It has been called "royal geranium" or "pansy geranium", an erroneous definition since, although similar, perlagonium and geranium are two different plants.

Care of perlagonium

The Perlagonium is identified by its large colorful flowers with six petals. Its bright green leaves give off a wonderful scent something that does not happen with traditional geraniums.

It is a plant that can live both outdoors and indoors. It produces flowers almost all year round, however, to have a good flowering it should receive direct sunlight for at least four hours a day.

In the hottest areas or times of the year, be careful because they can get scorched. Store your perlagonium outdoors in the central hours of the day to prevent the sun from spoiling the flowers.

It is in spring, especially in the month of March, when the flowers of the perlagonium are in full bloom. Although in autumn it can also bloom during sunny days.

In summer, make sure it has enough water to survive.

In winter, when the temperature is below 10 degrees, it is best to bring the perlagonium indoors and protect it with some fabric. Take advantage of this time to trim it, leaving it about ten centimeters high, this way it will resist better the rest of the year.

Remove dry or damaged leaves and dead parts attached to the stem. During the flowering period, apply a biweekly fertilizer for flowering plants that is rich in phosphorus and potassium.

The Perlagonium is a plant that needs water regularly throughout the year, but in summer this need is multiplied.

If you follow these tips you will appreciate how your perlagonium will have wonderful flowers full of color.
