It's springtime, flowers are blooming, the warm weather is beginning and allergies are emerging. An ideal time to fill with color every corner of the house. And although we have already talked about flowers as a decorative element, today we are going to focus specifically on how to decorate with artificial flowers.
Who hasn't had a flower die in two days? It's frustrating that they look so pretty but last so little, so unless we have a garden to pull from every day, their ephemeral nature means that keeping a house with fresh flowers every day can be a pain in the pocket.
To alleviate this, we will always have artificial flowers: they do not need maintenance, they bring vitality, light and joy to the rooms and in the long run they are cheaper than natural flowers. It is true that the touch that a natural flower gives is special, but you can't have everything!
When decorating with artificial flowers what we will have to take care of is the material they are made of or the quality of them, especially if what we want is to imitate natural flowers and make them look like natural flowers, because if these two aspects are not taken care of, they could look too fake.
Another option to decorate with artificial flowers is to make it noticeable that they are artificial. In this case it is not about "imitating" the natural flower, but to brighten up the house with flowers made with different materials such as knitting, paper (origami flowers are beautiful) or felt of different shades. This option usually gives a fun and informal touch to any corner and we can find them already made or, if we are handyman, we can get down to work in DIY plan.
As for the container, decorating with artificial flowers means that, since they don't need water, there is no need to place them in vases or pots on shelves or tables as usual. We can hang them on the walls, in the form of wreaths over doors, or even on the ceiling. The limit is in the creativity!
For the rest, as for colors, the same tips are valid as for natural flowers: use white and ecru for minimalist environments, pastel shades for vintage or shabby chic styles, bright colors of the harmonic range as a counterpoint to a very sober and multicolored decoration for children's rooms or boho or naïf air.
And as a picture is worth a thousand words, we leave you a selection of the most decorative artificial flowers so you can see that they have nothing to envy to the natural ones if they are chosen with taste ;-)
