Outdoor pots placed on the ground are more likely to freeze than those grown in the ground. Therefore, to prevent the roots from rotting in very rainy areas, you can place some mud shims or a piece of cork underneath. In this way, you will move them a little away from the soil. This type of accessories can be found in any gardening store.

Another idea so that they do not suffer too much from the low temperatures is to place them in groups. This way, they will protect each other. Even so, the plants that are weaker can be placed on a shelf or table.

To protect them from the wind, you can place some protection rolls that you can also buy in a specialized store. These can be made of different materials, but all of them are very resistant to inclement weather. They can be made of natural reed cane, heather covered with wire or straw rollers, among others.

Another option is to line the pots with felt or some other insulating material. This way, you won't have to worry about frost.

Finally, you should reduce the amount of water you use for irrigation. Do it progressively so that it is not a very abrupt change.
